Anonymous said: hey there! if I wanted an original design is it possible to ask a tattoo artist to draw it out for me? or must I pick from their repertoire?
That really all depends on what you mean by repertoire. If you’re speaking stylistically or the kind of tattoo that you want, there a lot of artists who specialize in their own kind of tattooing style (ie watercolor, blackwork, tribal, realism/portrait, etc…), but some are flexible and are willing to play around with different styles to create what you want. However, if you’re talking about the actual design of the tattoo, then you can either draw one up yourself and give it to them and they can tattoo that. Or the other option is to have a consultation with your artist (which most artists will do), discuss what you want, and then the artist will draw up something for you according to the design that you discussed .
Just got this done by Darren at Rock’n Willy’s in Stroudsburg PA.
